AndryPlatrites
Andry Platrites is a Cyprus-born, award-winning screenwriter and a refugee whose stories begin with truth, sometimes painful, sometimes hilarious, always real. Her work explores the emotional layers of life through drama, comedy, LGBTQ+ themes, social justice, and biographical narratives. Much of what she writes, she has lived. One of her most personal works is an autobiographical screenplay about the last day she and her family were uprooted from their homeland during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. As a refugee, she carries that experience into her storytelling—not with bitterness, but with boldness, honesty, and deep humanity. With over 50 international awards, Andry’s voice has been recognized for its emotional precision, cultural truth, and fearless heart. She writes about the chaos of real families, the beauty of survival, and the absurdity of everyday life. Sometimes it’s dramatic. Sometimes it’s ridiculous. But it’s always hers. She writes from life, with compassion, clarity, and hope for a reunited Cyprus built on freedom, peace, and diversity. Because some stories are too real to be imagined, and too human to be forgotten
